:: You should get up to 10 hours continuous typing time,
this can vary depending on the batteries used & your
time-out preferences.
Can
I use my Bluetooth Headset while using the
keyboard?
:: Normally no. The Bluetooth link will be used with the
data transmissions from the keyboard.
How
do I use the shift key (I do not seem to be able to get
capital letters)?
:: The keyboard uses a system of sticky shift keys. Just
like on your PC when you press shift five times you get the
option to activate sticky keys. This means that you can
only use each key sequentially, eg to type a A press shift
then press A.
How
do I pair with a handset?
:: follow the usual pairing procedure for your handset to
establish the Bluetooth pairing
:: Pass Key -- 0000
How
do I set up a COM port?
:: It varies depending on the handset you are using, some
recognise the Serial Port Profile of the keyboard &
automatically set it up, others require a manual setup
through the Bluetooth Manager of the handset. On Windows
Mobile 2003 (second edition) go to the Bluetooth
application under settings/ connections, then select
devices & new, then follow the prompts.
The
warning "Please make sure the Fabric Keyboard is turned on,
Bluetooth on & the PDA is on" keeps coming up. What do
I do?
:: First ensure that you follow the instructions in the
message, ie that the keyboard is on, Bluetooth is on &
no other Bluetooth devices are connected. If this is the
case then power cycle the keyboard (turn if off & back
on again) & try again. If this fails then follow the
procedure to set up a COM port. It may be necessary to
perform a soft reset on the device & repeat the above.
When
I press a key the wrong letter appears on the screen, or
wrong function is performed what’s
wrong?
:: If you find when using the keyboard that a keypress
produces the wrong character or operation, then you need to
calibrate your keyboard. Go to the G-Tech Fabric Keyboard
Screen; select Options & then Calibrate. Follow the on
screen instructions.
What
is Calibration?
:: Calibration makes small corrections to realign the
virtual locations of the keys on the sensor to the printed
keys on the fabric outer surface. It should be performed
when wrong keypresses are noted during the use of the
keyboard.
